Infinite scroll on single

I know you don’t support this feature, and I know you’ve posted on this board that ‘it’s not possible’, but i’d like to know why or if you happen to know what can i do make this possible on a single page.

To be more clear, i’d like to show at the end of the post related posts on one column and featured posts (retrieved from a target wp category) on another column that scroll down indefinitely. Something like mashable’s single view.

What steps do you think i’d need to take? Do happen to know a resource i might touch upon?

Lastly, since im not the only one asking for this, you might want to consider adding the feature in a future version or maybe consider developing this item for you next theme. Just saying. I think it would be a success !!
