Hi,
I installed the latest Sparkle theme, version 1043.
I am trying to change fonts, but nothing seems to work. In Typography -> Elements I changed fonts to Archivo Narrow and Raleway, 2 google fonts. I saved changes about 10 times (it said Options updated) and I pressed Save and refresh also many times, but fonts on the website are not updated.
If I look at the source code I still find the line:
<link rel='stylesheet' id='yt-google-fonts-css' href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto+Slab%3A700%7CLato%3A900&ver=4.0.1' type='text/css' media='all' />
These are fonts I do not use anymore, but they are loaded anyway. In the database I find the field _transient_yt_theme_gfonts with value
http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto+Slab:700|Lato:900
I can ofcourse edit the mysql database myself, but with purchasing a theme I hoped it was taken care of 😉
Next I tried to install my fonts as custom fonts. It seemed to work ok first. But when going to elements it wasn’t possible to select my new fonts…
Is there someone who can help ?

Is there anybody who can help me ? I looked at other websites using this theme, and it seems they were able to change their fonts.
Today I installed the theme 2 times again, first on the same webhost, later on another one. I followed instructions exactly, but no luck ;-(

Maybe one of the users of this theme can help me ? I am already busy for 5 days, trying to change the fonts of this theme. It should be something simple, and there is no reason why this should take longer than 5 minutes. I feel completely lost…
Someone else with the same problem ?

This is a general solution? I’m having the same issue and using this function doesn’t work.

Nop, it doesn’t and i don’t want to override styles manually, the typography tool should work because is a great idea and it seems to be good implemented but for some reason is not working.
Thank you.

The answer by Jacob (December 31, 2014 at 9:51 am) solved my problem.
I am still a little bit amazed. When I had the problem I installed the theme on 3 different websites, on 3 different servers. All fresh WordPress installs. And every time I had the same problem. I have been busy with it for about a week.
I thought this forum should be full with people having the same problem, but it seemed I was the only one. Really strange.

Maxxi, my problem was solved by adding the code written by Jacob on December 31, 2014 at 9:51 am. It is “tresdobleu” who has a similar problem now.
Although I am still wondering why almost nobody else is complaining. My experience is that something in the download was completely broken…

@tresdobleu; If you still have this problem… The solution Jacob posted (December 31, 2014 at 9:51 am) worked for me. But you also have to make sure that your css directory is writable by the server.
The css directory is /wp-content/themes/wpthms-sparkle/css or
/wp-content/themes/sparkle-childtheme/css if you are using the child theme…
After saving the font and other options a file called custom-styles.css is created/updated in this directory. - January 26, 2015 at 3:26 am #6433
Hi guys,
I feel like an idiot, it was a permission issue. I’m working on a VPS and there was some issues with user group. Now everything is working fine.
Thank you so much!
