Categories don't stay selected

This doesn’t work for me, but no code ever works for my desktop version. I think it has to do with a problem related to the theme rather than the code itself. Since basically every code you guys ever given me has never change the css. And what I find really weird is that it does change the mobile css or small screens but nothing happens on bigger screens.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

I remember you were kind enough to put it on my child theme, but it never worked from day 1. Also if you go to my website and hover over the catergory food, it will drop down but the words are white and you cannot see anything.

the html you put in the css seems to deal with the issue but creates an extra one since you cannot see the category letters since the tab becomes all white :/

Ps, while you are having a look and if you have extra time, would you help me make the space between post smaller? I tried everything but nothing seems to help.

Ps the thing you did where once it is selected the words change to the color of the category. Well played 🙂
