      Hi,

I’ve already translated the byline in Poedit and it’s showing up translated throughout the theme, but not in the Hero’s post bricks: https://d.pr/i/VHkvbm

It’s supposed to be “por” instead of “by”.

Maybe that “by” is hard-coded in the theme, instead of using the translation file?

      Cheers.

Are you sure? I’ve just opened the /wp-post-blocks/langs/en_US.po file and there are only 3 strings there. No “by”.

Forgot about this? I don’t see a new string for it in 1.0.4.

I do, and that’s already translated. But it doesn’t appear translated on that post block.

I’ve already done that, it might be a caching issue. Where/how does the theme call the .mo file? Is there a string suffix next to its URL for me to purge it correctly?

I’ve just tested updating another random string from the translation file and I see the change immediately on our site, so there’s something wrong with that specific “by” string.

There’s another string with the same issue: when we hover the search field, it shows “Search for:” — that’s also been translated by me, but it’s still showing up in English.

I hadn’t translated WP Post Blocks, only Newsbeat. That was the issue.

Why is that string coming from WP Post Blocks instead of the theme itself?

How about the “Search for:” when we hover the search field? Is that from a plugin as well?

The issue with “by” translation is back and I can’t find the string anymore, Jacob. Please advise.

I don’t know why, the previous translation I’ve created for it was missing. Thanks.
