    Hello,

I opened my site for public today and the theme got increasingly slower with higher traffic. The site ultimately crashed after about 30 users were online at the same time.

I contacted my host company and they assured me they had no problems with their servers. The other theme (older one) my site is running works perfectly as well so …

My enthusiasm with this theme is fading away as I am more and more certain I wasted $50 on a theme that can’t perform …

The theme is beautiful and works well design-wise but performance is way off anyone could expect. Too bad!

I’ll try these steps and report back.

Meanwhile … is it possible for 15 users on site simultaneously to slow the theme down to 10 seconds loading time and ultimately crash the theme and server?

How manny user did you have simultaneously on site the most?

    Hello,

We applied the steps above and it unfortunately didn’t improve anything. The site crashed and we got the following error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 15880705 bytes) in /home/story7t/public_html/oopsi/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1033

At the upload/instalation of the theme we got the following 3 errors from WP is:

Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to WordPress.org. Please contact your server administrator.) in /home/story7t/public_html/oopsi/wp-includes/update.php on line 119

    Can this be the problem?

Also our host provider pointed out that the slowness and errors could be the due to the fact that the theme doesn’t have a cache directory. Can this be it?

Also, if you run a speed test at http://tools.pingdom.com you can see that there a a vast number of requests sent. Is that normal?

    Hello @oopsi,

I am the one managed the moosin.com site. Actually I have the similar issue happen as you said. And the main reason is because of the hosting. First, the hosting company told me because there are too many access to database cause website loading low. So I did everything: cache, cloudflare and still not work as well crash all the time exactly what you are experiencing.

But when I change the hosting company to a better one with allowing more traffic and access to the database, everything works like charm. A single post page loads less than 2 seconds.

So in conclusion, I don’t think it is because of the theme, it is because of the host you are using and you need to check with them about the capability of the current host. At least in my experience, changing hosting company is much faster than ask them to find out what was happening 🙁

Hope you can fix it soon.

    Hello Brian,

Thank you so much for this answer. Host provider told me exactly the same thing … I mean exactly .. to the letter (‘First, the hosting company told me because there are too many access to database cause website loading low’).

Guess I’m gonna really need to move the site elsewhere.

    Hello Oopsi,

I hope you could solve it. I delayed the transferring to new hosting because I thought my previous hosting company can figure out what wrong (it was inmotion hosting). There gave me all kind of explanation and how to fix. I end up waiting for over a month with low loading website and I decided to move on when my website database corrupted (because database keep shut down many times). First you will see website loads low, then you see it frequently lost connection with database, and the last one, worse, your database will be corrupted and not recoverable.

And you know what, just two days after I left that’s company, they send me email that they upgrade and improve their hosting :))

Anyway, in conclusion, I wouldn’t think it is because of the theme, you can double check by copying the whole website to your localhost, to confirm that the lowing site is not because of the theme and plugin conflict.

If when move the site to local host and website works normal, which means it is because of server. Then start moving to new hosting.

Try to install cache plugin and free cloudflare. it helps my website loads within 2 seconds only 😛 and without infinite loading sidebar, it will be less than 1 second.

    Cheers and good luck.

    Brian

    Hey guys,

I owe you an apology! We’ve moved our site to another host today and the theme works like it is supposed to.

So sorry for bashing your theme 🙂

    Have fun!

I would disagree to the problem being your host. I use WPEngine as my host, use CDN and am fully optimized. Still getting the same major errors. If this issue has been going on for a year, I’m not clear as to why it has not been addressed in future theme updates.
