    I was adding a few comments to the php childthemes that I have so that I know all the changes I’ve done and I noticed that Every time I added a comment to content-single.php it appeared in the front page, I found it weird since I was using proper syntax like

    /**
    * comment
    */

    or

    <?php
    // This is a single-line comment

    or

    # This is also a single-line comment

    or

    /*
    This is a multiple-lines comment block
    that spans over multiple
    lines
    */

    But none of them worked

    Though they do work on custom-functions.php I think, unless they don’t and I am unaware.

    How do you guys add comments without appearing in the front end of the website.

    Thank you

    Weird thing happened today after making a few changes to custom-functions.php and content-single.php

    After adding a few comments to content-single.php, I could see words displaying in the front end, I fixed this by just removing the lines.

    But after adding similar comments to custom-functions.php nothing changed, so I assumed the comments I added worked. It was all good for like hours till I got this message in the majority of the post.

    “Operation timed out after 10000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received”

    I still don’t know what that means but somehow it got fixed after deleting the comment lines and I also removed a plugin stylesheet. I am not sure which of the two was causing this.
