I’m trying to move the text search field and button (div id=”g-search”)  from the navigation bar (actually, it’s below the nav bar right now) to the empty space in the header (banner). Is there some way I can do this with custom CSS or some other way?

Also, I’d like to change the default text in the search box from “Text to search” to something else. How would I do that?

    Thanks.

Thanks. I was able to move the position of the search box by modifying the header.php file. However, I don’t know what you’re referring to by the reference to the “localize .mo file.” Is this a file called, “localize.mo”? If so, where would I find it (in which directory)?

Sorry for my confusion. I figured it out and changed the searchform.php file to put new text in by default.

So, that’s solved. However, I can’t seem to get the search results page to show more than the Title of the page and “…” in place of an excerpt. I had thought it was showing both the title and excerpt before. Is there a way to do this.

Here’s an example of what it shows:

These are actually pages, not blog posts. How would I set up excerpts for page content? Or is there no way to do this?
