I cannot build photo galleries (or portfolio) as outlined in the documentation (which as a IT training professional I find to be thin and vague).  The problems are too numerous to outline here, how do I get support? The outlined method creates a slider with the individual images stacked below it (looks horrible) and does not add the slider as a new project on the portfolio page.

click right above the editor , drag your images to Upload box and wait a few second,
Note: you don’t need to click insert image, just upload and click cross icon after get done. That’s all.

Can you please explain what this means?  I cannot simply drag my images and wait…nothing happens, and there is no “cross icon” that appears. So I HAVE to select “Insert Into Post” to force the pictures to upload.  But I believe in doing this, this is why the images show in the body of the post and thus show as individual images and not in a slider.

I’ve looked at some of your galleries and there is no content at all in the comments input box.  How are the sliders being built into a new portfolio?

I’m under a deadline, is there better documentation or support available?

After several attempts I was able to build 4 galleries.  You simply have to close the upload dialog box without clicking on anything to submit the photos.

I do have 3 questions about these galleries that I’ve added, and how their functionality doesn’t seem to be what I saw in your demos.

    1.  On the gallery page, the separate galleries are set up so when you mouse over them, there is an icon for a magnifying glass and when you click on it I thought that it would launch a lightbox that would allow you to see the individual pictures in that gallery. This lightbox would be dynamic and would reshape itself to meet the dimensions of each picture.  However, in my galleries the lightbox only shows the primary pictures for each of the 4 galleries.  Each of the 4 lightboxes responds the same way and only shows the 4 primary pictures and not the numerous pictures within each gallery.

    2. I can click on the gallery title below each lightbox and be taken to a separate page for that gallery with an image slideshow that does show all images in the gallery.  However, this slideshow is not dynamic and the box does not adjust to meet the dimensions of the pictures, and in one gallery in particular most images are significantly cropped.

    3. On my photo gallery page, I have the page named “Photo Galleries” in the page properties but it displays the name “Our Porfolio” (misspelled).  This name was carried down from your template but cannot see anywhere to edit or change that name.

To see these 3 issues live, you can visit the page at http://www.1983mcdonaldsband.com/galleries/photos.  I’d prefer to make the site inaccessible until it’s completed, so please let me know if you are able to look that page over and offer suggestions on how to fix these issues relatively soon so I may take it offline again.

Thanks for a great design and for any help that you can offer.

Thank you very much.  I understand that for the single page option, the gallery will not resize.

I do have one simple question.  When you select the option to display a gallery in a lightbox, how is that lightbox designed to work? Is it supposed to show the various pictures within that specific gallery, or does it simply show the featured image only? Does it pull images from other galleries as well?

Thanks.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the clarification. I’ll see if there is a 3rd party plugin that will integrate with your theme then. Most lightbox plugins will show the full gallery and not just the primary image.

Gotcha! That may be the easiest route since it is your theme. 🙂 May I ask what kind of fees are associated with any customization like this? Thank you very much.

Thanks for the link, I must have missed the page with info on customization requests.  Unfortunately for the project I cannot budget the $45/hr. customization fee so this doesn’t seem to be an option. Thanks, anyways.
